On Friday 9 October we observed World Mental Health Day here at IESG Senior. Students and staff were encouraged to wear green clothing and green ribbon pins to bring awareness to issues regarding mental health. The school also organized an information booth in the school's entrance, where there was a table with information, a quiz, a bookshelf with both non-fiction and fiction related to mental health, and most importantly, staff from our Student Care Team who were there to provide information, answer questions, and chat with the students.
We will continue this important work during the school year and have regular, smaller, similar events with information and the opportunity to have informal conversations. We feel very strongly that it is crucial that we can all talk about mental health issues and healthy habits in an open, caring and unstigmatized way.
